Story
Where I come from, what shaped how I see things, and where I am trying to go.
Seoni
I grew up in Seoni, a town in Madhya Pradesh. Many people there say it as Sivni or Shivni.
My family came to the town from a village, and the reason was education: they wanted the children to study, and to study in English. They worked hard to build a home there and to give the children better chances at school and at work than the village could offer.
I studied at Mission English Higher Secondary School in Seoni and finished both my 10th and 12th grades there. When I think about where my own path started, I think about that move first. It was a decision about schooling, and my family worked hard to make it hold.
The forests nearby
Seoni sits next to Pench Tiger Reserve. The "Seeonee hills" where Mowgli's wolf pack lives in Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book take their name from the town, and the forest Kipling drew on survives today mainly as Pench and Kanha. Kipling never visited; he wrote from books by people who had (Kipling Society).
It is a small detail, but a useful one in introductions. People may not know Seoni. Most of them know Mowgli.
The longer path
Growing up in a small town taught me something I only put into words later: what a person attempts is shaped as much by their surroundings as by their ability. The assumptions in a place, about which kinds of work are possible, who gets to build things, and which conversations matter, quietly become your own. Getting past them takes exposure to other ideas, other people, and other ways of working.
A lot of my path has been about widening that exposure on purpose. I studied computer science and engineering, then went further with data science at IIT Madras and public policy analysis at the Takshashila Institution. I try to learn business, technology, and institutions side by side, because the problems I care about sit across all three.
Building is how I test what I learn. I want to make products that are useful to real people, earn credibility through work I can point to, and do work good enough to be recognised beyond my own city and country. I do not see that as a finish line. It is how I earn the standing to contribute more.
What I most want to contribute is access: to knowledge, to tools, and to people. Helping someone learn better, build something of their own, or connect more deeply with a community is the best use I can think of for what I have been given. I want to keep giving more to the world while staying open to what it can still teach me.

Questions I keep returning to
- Education and access to knowledge ; who gets to learn well, and what keeps good knowledge out of reach
- Personal growth and intellectual independence ; how people learn to think for themselves
- Business and building useful products ; what makes something worth building
- Technology and society ; what software changes for the people around it
- Institutions, public policy, and civic development ; how rules and public systems actually reach people
- Community, collaboration, and global opportunity ; how people from small places find their way into bigger rooms
- Contributing rather than only consuming ; what each of us owes back
